My Thoughts: When Sara’s busy family visits the beach, she happily entertains herself by making her famous seaweed soup. While Mom is busy with baby and Dad is getting lunch ready, Sara focuses on her own work — collecting water and seaweed for her special recipe.

In a story about independence, perseverance and self-reliance, Sara tackles her own project with determination and gusto. It’s fun to see Sara’s impatience and frustration turn into positivity and she embarks on her own course. A sweet, simple story for young children that may help them find their own drive.

About the Author: Antoinette Truglio Martin is a retired speech therapist and special ed teacher, who now enjoys life as an author and nonny. She finds wonder in children’s play and captures the magic with her stories.

Antoinette lives in her hometown, Sayville, New York, where she writes and plays on the Long Island seashore with her beach-loving family and friends.
