Review: Dust Fairy Tales: Absolutely Aggie by Michelle R. Eastman

Aggie is a little Dust Fairy who loves to play the bagpipes and tries to join the fairy band. But they do not approve of her offbeat style. Aggie tries her hardest to impress them, but without even trying, she finds the perfect place to play and discovers it might be more fun to just be herself.

Dust Fairy Tales: Absolutely Aggie is the second book in the Dust Fairy series by Michelle R. Eastman and it’s just as fun as the first. I love a good rhyming story and page after page in this charmer you’ll find sweet, funny and touching thoughts all expressed in perfect rythym and rhyme. It’s a joy to read, over and over again. The bright and colorful illustrations, by talented artist Kevin Richter, have a wonderfully unique style that is somehow both contemporary and classic at the same time. There is a high level of attention to detail throughout from the font choices to the fairy accessories that overall make for a professional book from cover to cover. I especially love Aggie’s darling, very un-fairy-like boots and her unruly hair. I can’t recommend this book enough, especially for young girls that love fairies and may or may not have any musical talent.
